What is the difference between Icecast and Shoutcast

Shoutcast has the added feature of being able to make your stream public and it therfore will show up on the shoutcast.com search function. It usually takes a little time to show up, but it will as long as you are running the stream. This way strangers can find your station. With Shoutcast you must turn AutoDJ off and on manually.

Icecast has the added feature of automatically turning on your AutoDJ when your live broadcast stopps, or you lose connection. You never have any dead air if you have set up the AutoDJ function. There are several sites to search for icecast streams that you can sign up for, so we do not consider this a feature.
