How do I: Enable The Basic DJ Service

Please follow the instructions below.


First you will need to upload your MP3’s to the Server; But before you start uploading your mp3 files, you must follow the steps below when encoding your mp3 files.

When creating music files for your Basic DJ Service you must to follow these rules:

1.      All your files must be in mp3 format

2.      All your files must be encoded with the same bit rate as what you will be streaming. (Basic DJ does not re-encode the mp3's at a different bit rate).

3.      All your files must be encoded with a sample rate of 44100


If these steps are not followed then your station will not work correctly.

Now you’re ready to start uploading your mp3 files to the Basic DJ server. To do this, please connect using your FTP information in your welcome email. You will need to connect to the server and upload your MP3 files so they will show in your Media Library.


That this point you are now ready to login to your control panel and enable the Basic DJ service, please follow the steps below to complete this.

1.      Login to your control panel

2.      Click on the “Configure Server” under Management menu on the left

3.      Select the “AutoDJ” Tab

4.      Select enable streaming source. (This can not be changed to enable unless you stop the streaming server.)

5.      After enabling your Streaming source you will need to add mp3's to a playlist.(To do this you will need to use the How Do I: Browse and Add Media to Playlists)

6.      Now you can start the streaming server.
