How do I create an .asx metafile

To create an .asx metafile, perform the following steps:

Note: The following steps were created using Microsoft Notepad. Depending on which HTML editor you use, the steps may appear different.

Step one: In the Notepad window, enter the following specifications for your .asx file:

The userid is the User ID you use to log into your Control Panel; the Path is the directory path to your .asf file, and the FileName is the name of your .asf file.

Note: You must insert your User ID in the URL of the .asf file if the file resides on Verio servers. If the User ID is not entered in the URL, the MMS format will roll over to HTTP streaming format.

Step two: From the File menu, click Save As.

Step three: From the Save As dialog box, from the Save in drop-down menu, click to choose the location to which you want to save the file.

Step four: From the File name box, enter the name of your file with an .asx extension. Click Save.

Note: By default, Notepad saves this file as a text document type. If your editor does not do the same, save it as a text document type, with an .asx extension.

Step five: Upload your .asx Widows Media file to your site via FTP using ASCII mode. If you are not familiar with uploading files to your site via FTP.
